I used to use the dramatically different lotion...one day a Clinique girl at my local department store told me I should be using the gel because of my skin type, and when she told me that the lotion actually has mineral oil in it, it was like a light bulb went on in my head. It made sense to me then why I broke out regularly and continued to have problems controlling the amount of oil build-up on my face. The lotion was adding to my problems, and that had never been told to me before by any Clinique person. I was literally adding oil to my already oily face! I immediately bought a bottle of this dramatically different moisturizing gel that day, and I gave my remaining lotion to a friend who has the skin type for it.

At first I wasn't sure if the gel would give me enough moisture, and I didn't think I would see much of a difference in my skin's appearance, but I absolutely did almost instantly!

Now that I have been using this product for a while, my skin has balanced out, and I don't have to dab my face during the day to take off the excess oil. My make-up stays on better now instead of sliding or melting off my face (YUCK!), and I don't break out nearly as often...really only around that time of the month which is normal. Plus, my skin feels so much smoother and softer, and I don't look as shiny as I used to all the time. I love wearing this at night - when I wake up my face isn't oily or gross on my pillow anymore. It's great!

Even though I like the pump, sometimes I had to pump twice to get a decent amount of gel dispensed to put all over my face, but maybe I just got a bad pump. Good size bottle, though, and it still lasted a long time with using two pumps every time. I use the tubes now so I can squeeze out the exact amount I need and can get every last bit of gel out when it gets close to being empty. I also like the tubes because they are better for travel - no worrying about the cap coming off and gel accidentally pumping out all over everything.
